I am highly proficient in APA, MLA, and Harvard referencing styles and have copy edited academic textbooks published by Springer and academic articles in a host of highly ranked academic journals, including the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, Design and Culture, and the Journal of Urban Planning and Development.
The majority of my clients have English as a second language, and I take pride in supporting them in drafting written English that is just as sophisticated and authoritative as their writing in their first language.
Rates
Copy Editing & Writing Rates
As a CIEP member, I follow their suggested minimum hourly rates, meaning I currently charge £41.10/hour for substantial editing. This includes elements of rewriting and broader developmental editing on the text's structure as a whole.
I have found that this service is especially useful for clients who have English as a second language, and therefore require support in developing the broader clarity and strength of their written communication.
As a general guide, I cover around 1000 words/hour, though this of course will vary depending on how much editing and rewriting the text requires.
My copy writing rates vary depending on the nature of the work and the publication format, but start at £250/1000 words.
